CLINTON TOWNSHIP — On Tuesday, the Clintondale Community School District reached tentative contract agreement with its two bargaining units — the Clintondale Education Association and AFSCME, Local 1630.
The CEA is the union that represents all eligible employees in the district’s six Clintondale public school units. The CEA’s two-year contract contains significant pay increases for the district’s educators and eligible staff, and step restoration for 12 bargaining unit members.
CEA members will receive a 4% pay increase for the 2022-23 school year, and an additional 3% in 2023-24. Members who finished the 2021-22 school year and begin the 2022-23 year will receive a $1,000 retention bonus in October. Members will be eligible for the same $1,000 bonus at the start of the 2023-24 year, too.
AFSCME workers received a one-year contract for the 2022-23 school year.
Upon Board ratification, AFSCME employees — building secretaries, instructional assistants, maintenance and food service workers — will receive a 4% increase on July 1.
AFSCME workers will receive a $500 retention bonus no later than the second pay period this October. They will receive a second $500 bonus next spring as long as they are still employed by the district on June 1, 2023.
