Secretary I

Clintondale Schools is looking to hire a Secretary I to work at Clintondale High School. The expectation of this position is to provide support to the High School Assistant Principal and Director of Athletics, coordinating building activities for students, staff, administration and the community, ensuring compliance of activities under area of responsibility with financial, legal and administrative requirements; and providing recommendations and/or direction as may be assigned by the High School Assistant Principal and/or Director of Athletics.

The compensation is outlined in the collective bargaining master agreement 2021-23.


  • Performs or supervises a wide variety of school clerical work, which may include preparation and typing of requisitions, purchase orders, invoices, reports and other related materials.
  • Arranges appointments, travel, schedule meetings, composes routine correspondence.
  • Attends staff meetings and records minutes of staff meetings.
  • Assist with the scheduling of game officials for athletic events.
  • Updates the district and High School Calendar with athletic events.
  • Assists in preparing and controlling the various budgets assigned to the Principal or Building Administrator.
  • Communicates with public, school personnel and students in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Operates and maintains a variety of office machinery.
  • Monitors the rear entrance and operates the door access.
  • Assists with the data collection and reporting of student achievement for instructional programming.
  • Prints out transcripts requests.
  • Assumes responsibility for building keys
  • Assists in planning and keeping track of fire and disaster drills.
  • Reviews and distributes mail.
  • Assists with Open House and Parent Teacher Conferences.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Assistant Principal or Director of Athletics.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Assistant Principal or Director of Athletics as this list is not all inclusive of the duties assigned to this position.


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Typing 55 words per minute.
  • Three (3) years secretarial experience, preferred.
  • Good organizational and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of general office procedures, phone, filing and copy machines.
  • Knowledge of Google Docs and other Microsoft applications to include Word, Excel and Powerpoint and must be willing to upgrade skills as necessary.
  • Knowledge of Power School, preferred.
  • Budgeting experience.
  • Pass a physical examination, drug screen and background check (CHRI).
  • Ability to adhere to district confidentiality policy.
