Technology Generalist
SUMMARY
Provides Tier 1 level support to students, teachers, and staff in the setup and operation of district technology including AV
hardware and software.
COMPENSATION
The compensation is outlined in the collective bargaining master agreement 2021-2023, ranging from
$15 to $20 per hour, depending on experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide Tier 1 level support for district desktops, laptops, Chromebooks, iPads, and other mobile devices
Provide Tier 1 level support for Microsoft Windows, MacOS, iOS, and Android OS
Provide Tier 1 level support for SMART boards, document cameras, and other classroom and conference room
technology hardware and software
Provide Tier 1 level support for the district’s computer networks and phone system
Provide Tier 1 level support for Gmail and Google Drive
Inspect all newly purchased equipment upon arrival and add to district inventory
Familiarize users with new equipment, applications and procedures
Maintain inventory of all user devices and classroom technology hardware
Maintain log of service calls
Inform Technical Coordinator about any critical technology issues
Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Director of Technology
QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or GED required, Associate Degree or technical certification in computing, networks, or a
related field preferred.
0 - 2 years of experience supporting user devices, classroom technology, computer networks, and phone systems.
Excellent problem solving skills.
Ability to effectively communicate technical and instructional information to others.
Ability to effectively communicate the status of materials/projects/repairs to administration.
Willingness to further skills and formal education through workshops, seminars and classes.
Willingness to keep current on the latest technological advancements.
Ability to lift 40lbs. (unpacking and moving equipment) and install hardware.
Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.
High degree of honesty, integrity and ethical standards.
Excellent record keeping, management/organizational skills.
