Superintendent Update
This notification is sent with high importance as an update from the Office of the Superintendent concerning new COVID quarantine guidelines and the temporary vaccination mandate for businesses with 100 employees or more. Also, I will discuss a few reminders.
First, the COVID guidelines I sent out last week to the staff and families has changed for K-12 school systems with new direction from the CDC and the Macomb County Health Department. The guidelines for quarantining and isolation has changed from 10 days back to 5 days. The general overview of the guidance suggests employees and students may return to work or school after the fifth day of isolation, only if there are no symptoms and mask must be worn from Day 6–10.
Additionally, in a change concerning the Temporary Mandatory Vaccinations for large businesses, the Supreme Court voted the mandate down; therefore, the district will stop the collection of vaccination information via cards and the documents that were sent out from my office to be uploaded to the District's Talent Management System. Due to the new quarantine and isolation guidance from the CDC and the Macomb County Health Department, we will leave the Talent Management portal open for employees to upload vaccination cards to expedite our process for COVID isolation and quarantines. I have included the directions for uploading employee vaccination cards to the talent management portal, if applicable.
Finally, please remember to complete the survey sent out regarding ESSER III funds. In order for the district to receive these funds, all stakeholders must participate and provide direct feedback to the district. This is important for the academic success and capital improvement of the district. Thank you in advance for your assistance with this matter.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact my office.
Yours in Education,
Rodriguez Broadnax
